Contemplation of time and the discoveries of modern science lead to the assertion that the mind is paramount and limitless.

Rethinking Immortality edition by Robert P Lanza Religion Spirituality eBooks

I have read Dr. Lanza's book "Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness are the Keys to Understanding the True Nature of the Universe" and this is a condensed version of his book. Very, very interesting theory especially coming from the world of science! Finally a trues scientist is attempting to explain the "unexplainable" instead of just ignoring it.

Rethinking Immortality edition by Robert P Lanza Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

A book that explains that we are one melted consciousness and that one consciousness can be called God. This is the reality.
This is a brief essay by Lanza that introduces a perspective on time and the human experience. Lanza is very adept at describing the tension between materialism and experience.
A different perspective from a learned man that introduces ideas by Kant, Newton, Einstein and Spinoza regarding humans, time and life.
This reading confirms a long held opinion that I experienced in an Episcopalian Monastery on the Hudson by of New York.
More than once, whether I was in the choir stall chanting or meditating reality of the present would slip away and I would see, hear and experience past monks and sometimes mind sitting in the same choir stalls. An older monk confirmed that some sections of the older stalls came from a Carmelite Monastery several centuries before.
Dr Lands gives credence that the past sometimes melts into the present. Quantum practices do synchronize at times whether praying in a monastery chapel, or wading in a Brookes a child. For those with an open mind or just like to be challenged, I urge you to read Dr Lanza's books!
This is a great short read. Robert P. Lanza is Robert Lanza, MD (or so Wikipedia says). I chose this read as a preview to reading "Biocentrism." It's very good.
Lanza's thesis requires that the Copenhagen Interpretation of quantum mechanics is correct, in that for an event to occur an observer must conduct a measurement of the event. That is, the probabilistic wave function of the event must collapse into the single event that happens.
From there, Lanza follows a trail of logic to conclude that time and space do not exist in reality. They are merely mental constructs. The universe did not exist in reality until it was witnessed by some conscious life form. Until then, it was just a probability distribution.
And, of course, we don't see reality. What our brain perceives is our model of reality. So reality is, to a large extent, subjective.
In such a short review I can't do justice to Lanza's train of thought. And I must admit that I don't see how he arrives at the conclusion that we might be immortal.
But, if you believe that Schroedinger's cat is both alive and dead at the same time, you can start from that and arrive at some weird conclusions. It's a fun read.
Personally, I find many worlds more plausible than the idea that the universe requires conscious observers to exist. But Lanza's book is an entertaining ride.
An eloquent, wide ranging philosophic parable about time and space as the creations and essence of the human mind, so nothing exists excepting an infinite string of nows and I s which are all one.
The full case is made in the book cited and is full of the details making his case. Jed McKenna's Theory of Everything (and also his trilogy) make a very similar case from a different point of view by the unusual perspective of the author. Adding the movie "Her", to the mix, it adds another facet to the nature of consciousness that makes the film stunning when all these sources are considered. Rethinking Immortality is thought provoking on its own and deserves a read if you're looking for something brief but without a fuller story. The 4 stars I gave with that proviso.
